Casa de Montaña Bed & Breakfast Policies

We really look forward to having you as our guest and making your experience with us as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. In order to accomplish this, it is important that we spell out everything in writing ahead of time so you can make informed decisions. We are a small family owned business that is working hard to provide a high quality, cost efficient service. Any last minute cancellations and no-shows can have a huge financial impact on us and our ability to keep the cost of these services as low as possible. Therefore, we have explained everything in detail below. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have prior to making a reservation.

Cancellation Policy

Non-Refundable Deposit

In order to confirm a reservation, Casa de Montaña requires a one-day non-refundable deposit. We charge the non-refundable deposit on either a Master Card or Visa, or, if you live in Panama, we also accept bank deposits. If you deposit money into our account, we require that a scanned verification be emailed to us.

Note: Fourteen days before arrival, we will charge the remaining balance or if the booking is made within 14 days of arrival, we will charge for the entire stay as a non-refundable deposit.

***A room is not considered booked until the deposit has been charged and email confirmation sent. ***

                                      

Cancellations, Schedule Changes, No-Shows and Early Check-Outs

‘Short notice’ cancellations, schedule changes, no-shows & early check-outs do not give us adequate time to re-book a room. Cancellation fees are based on the length of stay originally booked and will be charged to the credit card provided at booking according to the following timelines:

Cancellation/schedule change made between 14 days and the day of arrival: 100% of the remaining balance will be charged.

PLEASE NOTE: These fees do not include the 1 day non-refundable deposit.

  • By booking with us, it is understood that you have accepted our terms and conditions.
  • All deposits are non-refundable.

Any longer term or special discounted stays will be subject to agreement set up between Casa de Montaña Bed & Breakfast and the guest on a case-by-case basis. Typical agreement may include a 50% non-refundable upfront deposit as well as the policy listed above if the cancellation/schedule change is between 0-14 days.

It is agreed that such charges will be applied to Guest’s credit card as required. These policies are considered final. Casa de Montaña does not offer refunds. We reserve the right to apply all conditions. Casa de Montaña Cancellation Policy applies to all reservations taken by phone, email or in-person. All cancellations must be given in writing and a cancellation email received back by the guest from Casa de Montaña in order for the reservation to be considered as being cancelled.

 

Terms & Conditions

Check-in time: Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Check-out time: Before 11:00 a.m.
Breakfast: Served on the back covered patio from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Maximum occupancy per room: 2-3 persons, according to room design. Room rates are based on a maximum of two people per room. Extra guests are charged $30 per person. Extra beds are unavailable. If, when you arrive, there are more guests in your party than what is stated in the confirmation, we may not be able to accommodate your entire party.

Late arrivals (‘Check-In’ after 5:00 p.m.)
As the office closes at 5:00 p.m., it is imperative that we are aware of any late check-ins. If you’re going to arrive late, please give us advance notice so that we can arrange to have someone available to check you in. Unless otherwise notified, we will consider that a Guest who has not arrived by 5:00 p.m. (without advance notice to us) a ‘cancellation’, allowing us the option to re-rent the room.

Check-Out before office opens (‘Check-Out’ before 8:00 a.m.)
If you are leaving before our office opens (8:00 a.m.), please arrange to check out the day prior, before our office closes for the evening (5:00 p.m.). If you are unable to do so, the balance of your stay and any additional room charges will be charged to the credit card given for the deposit.

Late Check-Out fees:
Between 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. a $20.00 fee will apply.
After 1 p.m. a one-night rate will apply (pending availability).

Smoking:

Panama laws are VERY strict about smoking in any public places and hotels/Inns. Therefore at Casa de Montaña there is NO SMOKING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROPERTY. Smoking is only permitted outside of the main gate of the property.

Children:
We accept only adults.

Pets:
We are unable to accept pets.

Accidents/Missing Items:

Casa de Montaña cannot be held responsible for accidents or lost or missing items. We have provided a programmable safe for our guests to use in each of the rooms to store their valuables.

Lost Keys:
In the event that a guest loses their set of room keys, there is a charge of $100 (plus tax). This charge includes the cost of new locks, labor costs, and making of new keys.

Unacceptable Behavior:
Any unacceptable behavior will result in immediate removal from premises (plus forfeiture of entire cost of reservation).
Fees for damage to room and/or property, loss (including remote controls and all keys) and missing items will be charged to Guest’s credit card.

Parking:

We have parking available for our guests in our lot outside. Additional parking can also be accessed across the street right next to the bus stop. While we are located in a safe neighborhood, Casa de Montaña does not take responsibility for vehicle break-ins or vehicles being stolen of our guests.
