 DRIVING TO CASA DE MONTAÑA FROM ALTO BOQUETE

 

 

Directions to Casa de Montaña

  The good news is that it is fairly easy to get to Casa de Montaña!  Please print out the pdf version of this document and bring with you just in case so you want to either show it to your taxi driver or use it yourself if you are driving a rental car.

 From Panama City

Panama BusFrom Panama City International Airport (Tocumen Airport), it is approximately 213 miles or 343 kilometers to David on the Pan American Highway. The highway is mostly two lanes each way and quite easy to navigate. Watch out for fast/erratic drivers though. It takes approximately 6 hours to drive the distance. As you approach the city of David, you will start seeing several homes and a few gas stations on either side of the road. Get in the right hand lane. Look for a shopping center on the right hand side of the road that has stores like Arrocha, Conway, Panafoto, and Multimax. You are almost at the turnoff to the Boquete Road. You will see TGIF Fridays and then the store called Novey on the right hand side. The road right after Novey is the road to Boquete. Turn right and continue on the road for about half hour to get to Boquete. The speed limit is mostly 80 KPH unless otherwise noted. Curvy Panama RoadThe distance is approximately 25 miles or 40 kilometers. The town of Dolega is the halfway point between David and Boquete. Once in Boquete area, you will go through Alto Boquete (flat part of the highway). Go past Kotowa Coffee on the right with the attached Visitor Center. You will drive under the sign “Bienvenido a Boquete” (Welcome to Boquete). You will go through a steep decline into the valley. The beautiful town of Boquete and the Caldera River will be visible to you.Boquete Valley You will be entering “Bajo Boquete” (downtown Boquete area). Go through town on the main road – approximately 10 blocks or so. You will see restaurants named Art Café and La Posada on the right hand side and Boquete Tree Trek on your left at the far end of downtown past the church. The road will split off at this time. Take the main road going up the hill on the left. Boquete LandmarksWe are up the hill from there exactly one kilometer (.6 mile) on the right hand side several houses past Café Ruiz and only five houses past Mi Jardin es Su Jardin. Parking is available for customers of Casa de Montaña in front of the home. We have the main gate and stairway as well as the handicap ramp.

From David Airport

Take the main road out of David Airport to the traffic light. You will see a police station on your right. Turn left at the light and go through town. In the heart of town you will see a casino on your left and grocery stores Super 99 and Romero on the right. Keep driving until you reach the traffic light at the Pan American Highway and you will see a Terpel gas station on your right. Turn right on to the highway. You will see a yellow building called Cochez and across the street you see a blue building named Hopsa. Both of these businesses are hardware stores. Keep traveling several blocks down the highway. Stay in the left hand lane. It will take you approximately 10 minutes from the airport to get to this point. Turn left once you reach the store called Novey. This is the Boquete Highway. Once you turn, Novey will be on your right hand side. Continue on the road for about half hour to get to Boquete. The speed limit is mostly 80 KPH unless otherwise noted. From Boquete to Las Lajas Beach
