A dream in the making!

Construction - Week 9

Ok, so what can one say about a shared dream?!

It all started while watching an episode of House Hunters International on HGTV. The format of the show is where the buyers tour 3 properties and then at the end of the episode, decide to purchase one of them. This particular episode took place in Boquete. The beauty and the spirituality of the place were overwhelming to both of us. “Let’s fly down to Panama and take a road trip across the country to see it firsthand”, Terry exclaimed. A dream was born. Next thing we knew, we were on our way for an adventure of a lifetime. We ended up touring both Panama and Costa Rica. Boquete turned out to be every bit as wonderful as we had imagined. Our first trip was back in 2009. A lot has happened since then. We have been to Panama half a dozen times, met a number of great people, bought some land, worked with an architect to design the property so that it matches our vision of what we would like our B&B to look like.

Now four years since our initial visit, we have moved to Panama as “permanent residents”!  Our corporate jobs that we resigned from (on the same day!) seem like a distant dream. It’s time to pursue new dreams; new adventures and a new lifestyle that hopefully will make our hearts sing!  Come along with us on this new journey.

Check out our home, which is currently under construction, on our Facebook page here (and “like” us while you’re at it)!

awesome.. Glad to see the progress.

  2. Awesome…as we continue to watch from afar. The Galena Innkeepers wish you much success.

    • Hello Wendy! Thank you so much for your kind words. We continue to make progress. We hope to make it back to Galena sometime in the future. All the best to Galena Innkeepers! By the way, Boquete looks even more awesome right now than it ever did before… now that we are locals! 🙂

  3. Congratulations! I am so happy for you!!

  4. That is exactly how my husband, John, and I came to Boquete — through an episode of House Hunters International. We fell in love with the place, retired from our jobs and moved here. We now drive by your place every day, to and from town. We have been watching your place being built, bit by bit, poco a poco. A couple of times, I’ve even seen the two of you in front of your place, blueprints or cameras in hand. If you are looking for artwork to hang or even sell (for a commission, of course!) in your B & B once it is completed, check out my web site. I have shown locally and have a large painting on the bottom floor of the Boquete Library. http://www.robyncoleartworks.com
    Welcome to Boquete!

  5. Hello Robyn! Thank you so much for outreaching to us. We would love to meet in person sometime soon and discuss – the possibilities are endless! BTW, we checked out your website and your artwork is amazing. Please contact us through our email, info@casademontana.com and we can arrange a time/place to meet. All the best.
